OPTIMA 6 WHITE PENDANT LIGHT BY HANS DUE FOG & MORUP 1972

Professional seller: Danish Vintage Design

484 EUR / 590 USD

Description

OPTIMA 6 - white pendant by Hans Due for Fog & Mørup in 1972 - large Danish Modern hanging light in very good vintage condition.

A beautiful pendant characterized by its soft lines, clearly influenced by space age design - it features a large circular outer shade with a cylindrical top, all lacquered glossy white. Inside it features a reflective shade with red inner coating to give warmth to the ambiance and provide an even, glare-free lighting in both high-hanging and low-hanging situations.

The OPTIMA series was originally launched in 1972 at Fog & Mørup on Amagertorv, Copenhagen. It consisted of seven models: three pendant lamps with diameters of 20, 50 and 60 cm, two floor lamps with one and two spots respectively, a table lamp, and a wall lamp. All models were painted white, with metal parts in matte chrome. A brown and a yellow version followed in 1973.
This version is an OPTIMA 6 pendant, measuring 19.7" / 50 cm in width, with a glossy white lacquer - and it is in very good vintage condition with very few normal signs of usage and age. Please see the photos!
