Description

KRETA (pair) - green blown glass pendant lights designed by Jacob E. Bang in 1964 and produced by Fog & Mørup in collaboration with Holmegaard Glassworks - gorgeous glass ceiling lights in excellent vintage condition. A pair of blown glass pendants - double layered glass with green outer and white inner - shaped with a wide body and an elongated narrowing neck. The double layered glass provides a completely glare free light, while the white inner ensures that the emitted light is evenly distributed along the sides and gently guided through the narrow open bottom. The green outer turns light green, almost neon green, and emits a soft warm glow with a green ambiance. The KRETA is designed by Jacob E. Bang (in close collaboration with Jo Hammerborg to ensure that the design would fit with the existing Fog & Mørup product line) and was released in 1964 in five colors; light gray, olive, yellow, opal and this beautiful purple version. Each KRETA is comprised of mouth blown glass from Holmegaard Glassworks, and the combination of the mouth blown glass and the very attractive shape demonstrates to perfection how glass and lighting can be almost magical together. This pair of KRETA pendants is the green version, and both pieces are in excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of usage and age - there is a slight difference in the green nuance, but since these lights are made in blown glass, a slight nuance in the green tone would occur. No chips or cracks in either of the glass shades. Please see the photos!
