The Danish painter and ceramist Bjørn Wiinblad (1918-2006) is known for his original take on arts and crafts. With his colorful universe and sumptuous oriental style, Bjørn Wiinblad distinguishes his work from the clean simple Nordic style. Bjørn Wiinblad graduated as a typographer from the Technical School in 1939 but he soon realized that the graphics and artistic work was his main interest. Therefore he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1943. Bjørn Wiinblad's design philosophy was that his work should bring joy to people, which succeeded. People throughout the world are still excited about his colorful, decorative and humorous work today.
