Frits Henningsen

Frits Henningsen

Frits Henningsen (1889-1965) was a Danish carpenter educated in 1911 by I.P. Mørck, one of the most acknowledged carpenters of the time. Frits Henningsen was a carpenter with a passion for craftsmanship and quality. Unlike other carpenters, Frits Henningsen insisted on (formgive - producerer?) shaping the furniture he had designed himself instead of letting someone else do it. Frits Henningsen's design is inspired by other periods such as the Rococo style and the Empire style with a modern interpretation, which is very similar to the work of Kaare Klint. The design that Frits Henningsen has received most recognition for is the Heritage Chair.
