Poul Cadovius (1911-2011) is despite his untraditional background as a saddler, the designer of one of the most pioneering and worldwide-known furniture successes; the Royal System bookcase series. Royal System was designed in 1948 and was one of the first wall-mounted shelf systems. Royal System was pioneering in its design as it has an incredibly light expression while offering many individual combination options. Poul Cadovius won a number of international awards for the bookcase design, which is still relevant in modern interior of today.
