Verner Panton

Verner Panton

Danish Verner Panton (1926-1998) is one of the most original and innovative designers. Verner Panton graduated as an architect from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1951. After graduating, he worked at Arne Jacobsen's drawing room and then went on a number of study trips in Europe to collect inspiration. Verner Panton is considered to be one of the most prominent designers of his time and gained great international success in the 1960s. In Denmark, however, many people were critical to Panton's unconventional colorful universe, which contrasted sharply with the traditional furniture. Verner Panton was undaunted and continued experimenting with new shapes, new materials and strong colors. It resulted in many beautiful and visionary designs, including the Panton Chair / S Chair, the Verpan Globe pendant, the Panthella and Flowerpot lamps.
