LAZY SUSAN BY DIGSMED 1960S

Professional seller: Danish Vintage Design

262 EUR / 320 USD

Description

LAZY SUSAN - produced by Digsmed in the 1960s - Scandinavian Modern teak serving tray or platter, complete with six original smokey glass bowls - in very good vintage condition.

A beautiful teak lazy Susan with a soft rounded edge, a carved circular room in the middle for six smokey glass bowls and a small circular teak base underneath. The wheel bearing is placed between the two teak plates, and works smoothly, but have a faint noise. The six smokey glass bowl are faceted on the bottom, giving them a luxurious touch.

This Scandinavian Modern teak lazy Susan would suit any dining table setting with different snacks, vegetables or chips and a sauce or dip in the round center bowl.

Underneath the base hallmarked with the Digsmed logo and marked 1964, but no logo on the glass, but we know that Digsmed collaborated with Holmegaard in producing the glass parts.

This fine example of Danish Craftsmanship is all original and is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of usage. All glass bowls are intact, all teak parts without any damage - only thing keeping me from classifying it to be in excellent vintage condition is the faint noise coming from the wheel bearing. Fully functional. Please see the photos!
