Arne Jacobsen

The Danish architect and industrial designer Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) is still among the most popular and best-selling designers in the history of Danish design. The designs of Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjærholm, Børge Mogensen and Verner Panton were trendsetting from the 1940s to 1960s, which is known as the Golden Age of Danish design. Arne Jacobsen graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1927, where he later taught as a professor of architecture. Arne Jacobsen is internationally knowned for his bestsellers The 3107 Chair, The Ant, The Swan and The Egg - all furniture that has achieved the status as icons and made Danish design internationally known and recognized.
