Ib Kofod-Larsen

Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921-2003) graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the 1940s and started his career as a furniture designer. Early in his career, he went abroad, which meant that his furniture was produced, marketed and acknowledged outside the borders of Denmark. Ib Kofoed-Larsen's international breakthrough came in 1956, where Queen Elizabeth the 2nd of Britain during an official visit to Denmark acquired one of the Model U55 chairs - which has since been called Elizabeth's chair.
